11th Street (Murray Morgan) Bridge And Marina, 2007
Hahnemuhle Fine Art Paper, 18.5 x 28 in., (48 x 72 cm.), Ed. of 3

The 11th Street Bridge (Murray Morgan Bridge) was made immediately upon the artist's return to his home city of Tacoma, Washington in 2007, the first U.S. landing for a style he began in Europe from late 2005. It is considered one of the artist's best works in abstracted geometry, color and documentary, as this local landmark was one of the photographer's earliest and best loved subjects. What is unique about the dialogue present, is that as an early model for studying precision of line, the artist has managed to soften the sharpness once dominant, and in fact through un-focusing, he has stretched, and expanded the lines. This may be seen in contrast with a later study attempting to mimic earlier studies that had been lost, in Abstract Geometric 11th Street Bridge. Now the emphasis is on color arrangement in compositional balance, rather than on negative and positive black and white.
