Volosko Rooftops is a view of the artist's one time home in this small fishing village nestled on the Adriatic coast. A dream for a landscape lover, the scene was treated as such; the precise angle of composition was researched over a period of years. Yet in comparison to the flamboyancy of the artist's newly found color method of the time (see: Banana Leaves, with Villa
) this work is subdued, revealing a less optimistic, though accurate coincident to psychological mood perhaps not seen to the degree again until Walmart Parking Lot, Through Rain in 2009.
