White Fence is an early jumping off point from the artist's previous all black and white photography mindset. This beautiful image, deceptively simple, yet contrastingly striking, marks the artist's transition from exploring grayscale tonal juxtapositions, to color tonal juxtapositions. The importance of White Fence to the early subsequent work of its style is marked in a later reference to it found in the Blue Series, 2007
